Lemon Truffle Balls

Lemon Truffle Balls

One of our favorite treats during the holidays is Oreo balls, so I came up with a summer version that is so fresh and fun! It's like eating a little ball of lemon cheesecake, although the powdered sugar coating makes you think of lemon bars. We love them straight from the freezer. The perfect bite-sized little treat for a sweet tooth or school lunch.

S'mores Granola

S'mores Granola

My daughter found a gluten free s'mores granola she could buy at college, but they don't exist here in the east, so I decided to make my own version! Such a delicious granola for topping yogurt or eating with milk poured over it. Will definitely give you some good summer vibes!

Cherry Almond Ice Cream

Cherry Almond Ice Cream

This ice cream is a lovely combination of sweet fresh cherries, cream, and toasted almonds. You don't have to have an ice cream maker either! A bowl of this just tastes like summer!

Cranberry Orange Sparkle

Cranberry Orange Sparkle

We love this fizzy, fruity drink during the holidays! My mother-in-law first introduced me to the tasty mix of cranberry juice and lemon-lime soda. I've since tweaked it and added orange juice, as well as ginger ale instead of 7up. Throw in some orange slices and fresh cranberries, and you've got a special drink to serve on any occasion! We love it poured over ice too.

About Me

About me photo

Hello! I'm a mom of four kids and live in Virginia. Two of my kids have celiac disease, so I've been cooking gluten free for 18 years now! It was very overwhelming when my oldest daughter was diagnosed back in 2007, but it has been a fulfilling journey ever since. I know there are a lot of gluten free blogs out there, but I wanted to create one devoted to food specifically for kids.

Through the years, I've had many friends come to me when they or someone close to them have started down the gluten free path. I used to send them an email detailing our favorite brands, what breads, pastas, pizza, etc. are most enjoyed by my kids, as well as some of our best recipes to get them started. I am hoping to help others who may be new to gluten free eating or just want to have some fresh ideas.

Cooking and baking have always been a passion of mine, so when my daughter was diagnosed, my mom told me "you're just the mom to make the best of this". Moms know just what to say!! It has definitely become second nature to me, and I've found ways to help my kids enjoy food just as much as they would if they could have gluten. The trick..... make it so delicious that my whole family enjoys it! Let's get started!
